Senate Secretariat is looking for dynamic and committed individual geared towards taking new initiatives, implementing visionary strategies and providing optimum support to the Senators for the post of Director General (IT), The BPS-20 on contract basis for three years period (extendable upto one year//). Candidates who fulfil prescribed qualifications and experience may apply for the said post within fifteen (15) days of publishing of this advertisement.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & AGE prescribed for the post:

Qualifications:

Eighteen (18 years) of education in Computer Science///IT from HEC accredited years (IT) Institution, with minimum 3.0 CGPA in Semester System or Ist Division in BPS-20 annual examination System ar. Higher qualifications & international certifications in relevant filed shall be preferred.

Required Experience:

Twenty (20) years in progressively responsible position (BPS 17 and above or similar position in Private Sector) in the field of Computer Science//./Information Technology having 05 year service as senior executive///decision maker in domain of Information Communication Technology.

Professional Experience:

i. A clear grasp of the administrative issues involved in managing a large configuration of automation resources in a large organization along with experience of independently managing such configuration.

ii. Experience of leading and supervising a team of IT personnel in a professional manner.

iii. Ability to formulate and achieve strategic goals and objectives.

iv. Experience of implementing e-filing system in order to enable work from remote and far flung areas. V. Experience of developing and implementing IT Strategies/Polices/SOPs in a large setup of Information Technology.

vi. Experience of working as System Analyst and Director (ICT) with a clear understanding of programming principles and databases. Must have thedesigned && implemented 05 IT based //applications ar. Experience of using ICT and social media for public outreach, webcasting and Telecasting would be an asset.

vii. Experience of using ICT tools and management of LAN/MAN/WAN, cloud computing, network analytics, Switches and firewalls.

viii. Experience of IT related procurement, budget and payment related matters.

ix. Experience of enabling and holding Virtual meetings/Video Conferencing.

Responsibilities:

1.      Formulation of IT Policy for Senate Secretariat.

2.      Planning, developing and implementing ICT platforms and new initiatives in line with the emerging IT trends.

3.      Providing IT based services to Members through e-forms, databases and e-filing.

4.      Leading and managing IT Staff in long term and routine matters pertaining to I.T applications and equipment.

5.      Lead and coordinate selection, installation, operation, support and maintenance of Senate Secretariat's infrastructure (Software Development, Networks, Telecasting, Annunciator, Hardware and Peripherals).

6.      Improving IT Infrastructure aligned with organizational objectives and ensuring its proper upkeep.

7.      Ensure availability of necessary software applications to support parliamentary and operational needs. Supervision and conduct of Virtual / Online meetings and Video Conferences from time to time.

8.      Server and Help Desk Monitoring and Management.

9.      Assist higher management in technical matters pertains to Information Technology,

10.  Supervision and performance evaluation of IT staff.

11.  Formulation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Job Description (JD) for IT staff.

12.  Development and organization of e-filing system. Adoption and implementation of international best parliamentary practices in the field of IT.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      The post will be filled on contract basis for a period of three years; however, if deemed necessary, the period of contract may be extended for a further period of upto one year.

2.      Persons already in government service should apply through proper channel. Advanced copy will not be entertained.

4.      Candidates with demonstrable evidence of exceptional performance/achievements in the particular field can be given special consideration.

5.      No TADA will be paid for the test/interview.

6.      In the exigency of service, the number of post can be increased and decreased, as the case may be.

7.      The candidate shall mentioned age as on cutoff date of application.

8.      Age relaxation will be granted under the prescribed rules.

9.      Only short listed candidates will be called for test/interview.
